Alvin and Rose Berlin founded Baltimore Auto in 1948 when Alvin returned from active duty in the armed forces and started the business together with his war bride, Rose. With Alvin on the road and Rose in the office, the business grew to become a well established powerhouse in the wholesale aftermarket industry. In 1991, BAS became a woman owned business and moved its headquarters to a state-of-the-art warehouse and office complex at the crossroads of I-95 and I-695 (the Baltimore Beltway), in close proximity to the Baltimore/Washington D.C. corridor.
